Going Home by Wanda Brunstetter

I had Going Home on my bookself to read since 2007.  I know that year because it is inscribed toi me by  the author.  Likely bought it on one of our trips in Indiana where there are many Amish.  This was published in 2007, is a nice solid paperback, 286 pages.  A very wholesome story about Faith who left her Amish family in Missouri to seek fame  performing on stage, tellin jokes and yodeling.  She marries her agent, an English, who is abusive, a gambler and alcoholic.  They have a daughter, Melinda.  She is gone 10 years from her family without contact.  Her husband is killed in an autoi accident and Faith decided she needed a stable home for Melinda.  Living out of a suitcase and traveling was not optimal environment for a child.  So she plans to return to  her family, get Melinda settled in and then leave her with her parents while she returns to the stage.,  only lkife does not always go as planned and many things happen to stallk Faith froim leaving.  She has told no one of her plans.  She meet Noah, a kind Amish man who bakes and quotes scripture.  Faith was never baptized into her Amish faith and does not intend to do so now.

The story is nice smooth reading. I rate this  3 *** only because it is not something I would pick up to read but apparently meeting the author inspired me to buy it.  There is really not a thing wrong with the writing nor the story line.
